AI vs. AI: QNX Explores the Next Cybersecurity Challenge at the 2026 ISACA Manila Annual Conference

Artificial intelligence is reshaping cybersecurity. As organizations use AI to strengthen their security capabilities, threat actors are also using the technology to develop more sophisticated and scalable attacks.

This was the focus of QNX’s participation in the 2026 ISACA Manila Annual Conference, held on August 13 and 14, 2026, at JPark Island Resort and Water Park in Cebu, Philippines. With this year’s theme, “Advancing Digital Trust and Resilience,” the conference brought together professionals and leaders in IT governance, cybersecurity, risk, audit, and assurance to discuss the evolving digital landscape.

As a participating sponsor, QNX joined industry professionals throughout the conference and was also represented in an IT Risk Management breakout session led by Bert Bartolome, Head of Business Solutions Group, and Leirrand Christian Ochotorena, Cybersecurity Technical Lead.

During the session, “AI vs. AI: Winning the Cybersecurity AI Arms Race,” the QNX team discussed how AI is changing both sides of the cybersecurity landscape.

Organizations are using AI to improve threat detection, analyze security data, identify vulnerabilities, and respond to threats faster. At the same time, cybercriminals can use AI to automate attacks, create more convincing social engineering tactics, and adapt their methods more quickly.

This creates a growing cybersecurity challenge. As AI capabilities advance, organizations need to ensure that their security strategies and defenses keep pace.

The discussion also highlighted the importance of approaching AI adoption through risk management, cybersecurity, and governance. While AI creates opportunities for organizations, it also introduces new risks that need to be identified, assessed, and managed.
